Overall, the gameplay of Mythos has been enhanced but also requires players to play the game strategically and not lose the focus on building the empire and relationships around it. WIth addition to prayers and hectatombs that can be created for Gods, the overall gameplay in Mythos gives more of that Greek mythology vibe. That includes the Centaurs or Cyclops or even Minotaur which can be added to the squad. On top of that, each type of creature that has been humanized in the normal campaign gets an actual fantasy/mythic version during Mythos playthrough. After sending out the troops on expedition every few turns the player gets to make choices on what action to take and that can affect the final combat against the monsters. There is Cerberus, Leviathan, and Archgriffin. There are three monster expeditions available but only one expedition can be done during a playthrough. Mythos, as explained earlier, adds new monster expeditions that can be set by sending out a squad of strong troops.
